Console online multiplayer sits behind a subscription you buy separately. PlayStation Plus and Xbox Game Pass Core each run $60/year (Ultimate $200), Nintendo Switch Online $20/year. Only PC charges no platform fee — a $31 PS5 game is really $91 in year one.
