Flexi Hose 100 ft
$30 under your budget
The heaviest-tested brass-fitting hose of 2026 — 8 independent sources back it: a 4-layer latex core, a 3750D sleeve, a 2,000-cycle endurance test, and a lifetime warranty.

Fit ledger — need → measured evidence
■ The catch — co-equal billing, always
You pay ~$20 more for the name, not clearly tougher fabric. Flexi Hose ships the exact same solid-brass fittings and 3750D casing as TheFitLife — but Family Handyman's testers found TheFitLife's *denser* interwoven weave more abrasion-resistant than Flexi Hose's looser one. What the premium actually buys you is the lifetime warranty and the 2,000-cycle endurance record, not a hose that survives gravel any better.
Dealbreaker? Runner-up №1 (TheFitLife) is the escape — denser weave, ~$5–20 less. ↓

Plastic fittings that crack
Plastic-fitting hoses split at the threads after 1–2 seasons of UV exposure. Solid brass costs ~$10–20 more but lasts 5–10x longer — on an expandable hose, brass fittings are table stakes, not an upgrade.
Hot water melts the core
Every expandable hose caps at 113°F / 45°C. Hook one to a hot-water tap, water heater, or a pressure washer's heated output and the latex core swells and bursts in seconds past 130°F. For hot water, buy a rubber hose.
Low pressure won't seal
Expandable hoses need 40 PSI minimum to expand fully and seal at the fittings. At 40 PSI you get only ~2.5X expansion (not the advertised 3X); below that they leak at the threads — a well-pump house should buy a traditional rubber hose instead.
