It stopped being the bargain. Sengled's single sold for around $5 in spring 2026 and is $12.07 now — the worst per-socket value in this comparison outside Hue and LIFX. Four Sengleds cost $48.28; a Linkind 4-pack of the same 800-lumen class costs $23.72. Past two sockets, this is the wrong way to buy.

Pack-size math
The same bulb sells as a 1, 2, 3, 4 or 6-pack at wildly different per-socket prices. Sengled's single is $12.07 a bulb; Linkind's 4-pack is $5.93 a bulb for the same 800 lumens. Every price here names the pack it applies to.
The transport trap
Matter-over-Thread bulbs (Hue Essential, Aqara T2, Eve Flare) will not pair at all without a Thread border router, and Alexa's Matter-over-Thread support for bulbs is still incomplete in 2026-Q3. Matter-over-Wi-Fi bulbs need 2.4 GHz — a 5 GHz-only network fails pairing outright.
Works with HomeKit is not Matter
Bulbs badged HomeKit-compatible are often Wi-Fi/HomeKit only (meross MSL120), and legacy Philips Hue White and Color bulbs are Zigbee that only reach Matter through a Bridge. Check for the Matter logo or a CSA certification ID — and treat CRI claims as self-reported below the $30/bulb tier.
