It has no Dolby Vision. Samsung omits the format at every price, so Dolby Vision libraries fall back to HDR10+ and no firmware will change that. At a rated 1,300 nits it is also roughly a third as bright as the $799.99 Hisense, so daylight washes it out — and stock is thin at this price.

Rated nits vs measured nits
Box brightness is not screen brightness. The Hisense U8QG is rated 5,000 nits and measures ~4,000; the U7SG is rated 3,000 and RTINGS measured 2,817. Every peak figure comes from a small test window — full-screen sustained brightness is far lower on every panel type.
Only two HDMI 2.1 ports
Every Hisense and TCL set in this bracket ships just 2 HDMI 2.1 ports, against 4 on the LG and Samsung OLEDs. A console plus a PC plus a 4K/120Hz soundbar leaves you one input short, and no adapter fixes it.
The 2024 generation is gone
The Hisense U8N and U7N, the Samsung S90D and the 65-inch LG B5 all read "currently unavailable" on Amazon, and the 65-inch U8QG lost its buy box — marketplace-only at roughly double street price. Any sub-$1,000 guide written before mid-2026 is stale.
