The answer — one pick, priced

Wallbox Pulsar Plus 48A
no budget ceiling
Two EVs on one circuit: Power Boost and Power Sharing stop the breaker tripping and let both cars charge overnight. PCMag calls it the most refined home charger available.

Fit ledger — need → measured evidence
■ The catch — co-equal billing, always
Load balancing locks you into Wallbox. Power Sharing only works between two Wallbox units, so car number two means buying another ~$700 Pulsar Plus. It is also hardwired-only and J1772-only — a Tesla needs an adapter — and installation runs $800-$3,000 on top.

Traps — this verdict avoids
The 48-amp trap
Charging speed is capped by the car's onboard charger, not the wall unit. Many EVs accept only 32A (7.7 kW) or 40A (9.6 kW) AC — on those cars a 48A charger adds zero real-world speed. Match the charger to the car, not the marketing.
The tax credit is gone
The federal 30C credit — 30% of cost, up to $1,000 — expired June 30, 2026, with no extension pending. A charger placed in service after that date gets nothing federally. Budget the full hardware plus install cost and check state/utility rebates instead.
The install costs more than the charger
Hardware is $300–$800, but professional installation runs $800–$3,000 depending on panel capacity and cable run — often more than the unit itself. Plug-in NEMA 14-50 models sidestep part of that bill; anything above 48A must be hardwired.
