ACTUALLY IN STOCK
In stock on Amazon as of Jul 16 2026 — while the SNOO, both Gracos, the 4moms mamaRoo and the Fisher-Price all read "Currently unavailable".
REAL CRY DETECTION
AutoSoothe hears a genuine cry and starts rocking, vibration and calming sound within 4-6 seconds — no button, no app needed.
HANDS-OFF SOOTHING
In RN-led testing it re-settled the baby on its own in about 44% of cry events.
BEDSIDE ACCESS
A 360° swivel and lowering wall put the baby over your bed — reach in without standing up, which is why it doubles as the C-section pick.
NO LOCK-IN
No proprietary swaddle and no subscription — unlike the SNOO, whose responsive rocking only engages with its clipped-in SNOO Sack.
SANE PRICE
$400 against a $450 list — roughly a quarter of the SNOO's $1,695.

The catch — co-equal billing, always

It is not a SNOO. It re-settled the baby by itself in about 44% of cry events — the other half of the time you are still getting up. It rocks more gently, carries no FDA authorization, and is rated only to 20 lb / ~5 months.

Traps — this verdict avoids

Trap 01

The six-month cliff

Every model here but one is infant-only: SNOO and 4moms stop at 25 lb, the Gracos, Starling and HALO at 20 lb / 3-5 months. Only the Cradlewise reaches 24 months. You are buying about half a year of use.

Trap 02

Translating isn't soothing

"Smart" covers two different products. The SNOO and Gracos *act* on a cry; the Maxi-Cosi Starling's CryAssist AI only *tells you why* baby is crying — and it has repriced to ~$950-$1,099, near-SNOO money for a bassinet you still work yourself.

Trap 03

Smart is not safe

No smart bassinet detects or prevents SIDS. Only the SNOO's claim is FDA-reviewed and it is a De Novo authorization for back-sleeping, not SIDS prevention — and it only holds with the proprietary SNOO Sack clipped in. AAP rules apply to all of them.
